Praying mantis... bizarre, beautiful, deadly. The photos on this page are of the Carolina Mantis, which usually has a blotched gray or dull brown body. All specimens I have found of the Carolina Mantis have been around five (5) inches long. Because of their color, they are easiest to spot when on green plants.
