Downy Woodpecker Photos

These photos of a downy woodpecker are the first wildlife photos I've gotten to take with the Canon 10D. This bird was about 75 feet away, but I was able to get some decent shots with the 300mm zoom lens. The 10D has a magnification factor, making the 300mm actually more powerful than on a 35-mm film camera.

2011-11-05 Before this, I had been using a Minolta Dimage 7 for photos for a couple of years. I was just getting back into SLRs... the change from a slow camera to one that reacts quickly was very good for me. Though these shots here are still sub-par. Too grainy.
