Greetings Earthlings! It's been a few months since my last newsletter so I figured I should share some of the things I have been working on.

I have been telling people that I have been learning how to create database-driven Flash applications. I can finally show where some of the fruits of these projects.

Andrew Penry and I built a flash site for Bullet Jones (www.bulletjones.com) . On that site Andrew focused on the Flash and database aspect. My work was the graphical element. That is probably the most graphically integrated site I have ever worked on. It shows the direction I am taking in regards to melding content and presentation.

Another site that I built in Flash was a Flash front-end for Last Minute Villas at http://www.lastminutevillas.net/floridavillasflash/lmv.html . In that project, I used the database backend that was already present and built a Flash application to browse the data. I created the 3D video in 3D Studio Max.

I have started planning a Flash version of the Artistic Network, and I may also make a Flash utility for the front page of my site. I spent so many years avoiding Flash... but now I wish I had familiarized myself with it long ago. I actually enjoy the possibilities for greater interactivity and multi-media that Flash offers.

In other news, the bulk of my work with Last Minute Villas has come to a halt. While I am still overseeing maintenance, active development has ceased; a slumping travel industry has affected this more than I had hoped. As such, I am now open to take on more projects. So if you need someone like me to help your site, or know someone who does, don't hesitate to call or email me.

One of the upsides of the lull in my work is that I have some free time for photography and other creative outlets that I have neglected these last few years. Attached are some recent photos. I have a batch of new insect and spider photos that I will load this week. Expect some new cartoons, mazes and maybe even some 3D animations in the coming weeks and months.

Stay Safe, Healthy and Creative!

Shawn
