Brian, you obviously didn't read this "dumb" article very carefully... the author never claimed that insurance companies offer physical protection. He said that insurance companies market their services as a way to protect yourself and your family from whatever 'might' happen, and the suckers that buy insurance interpret the worthless cards they carry as some kind of magical shield of safety.
Insurance companies scare and intimidate us into buying their product. But get in a car accident, or fall off a ladder... and see how much your insurance company protects you when you get the bill.
A better bet is to just save the money you'd spend on insurance in a savings account at your local credit union, cuz then you'll get ALL of it back, plus interest.
INSURANCE IS A SCAM!

Hi,
I'm getting the Err 99 message on my 10D. I've had it for years and it started slowly. But now it is persistent and very aggravating. It's even more aggravating to read this message board and find that Canon has been less than forthright about the issue. I've been a die hard Canon fan for years but this may change thins. What I want to know is what dates the most recent posts are. I'm posting on March 12, 2009.

The answer is in Interenet explorer security options, there is an option that says "allow video/animation that does not use a seperate media player" and this is disabled at default and this is what caused me issues with my streaming...

I have read tons of articles on the web about this issue... I have tried everything and non of it works. I have the canon xti and only have canon lenses. i tried a new memory card and a brand new battery... No go!
Contacted Canon and they said it would be a minimum of $210 to fix it. Maybe I should have gone with Nikon? But I like the canon lenses better.

They almost HAD ME- its also an EMPLOYMENT scam.
I was going for a receptionist interview, when suddenly, the guy said "oh, the receptionist spot was filled. How about sales?" I have NEVER sold anything!! and not to mention I had no idea how they found me. I asked him "how did you find me anyway" and he said I must have responded to an add in the paper for the receptionist job- meanwhie, I believe him since I've been sending my resume EVERYWHERE since being unemployed. Some companies have ads on the internet, but the actual company is confidential, so I just assumed that was how that happened, or from the paper since it happens there as well.
He gave me a tour of this big building, a well oiled machine, and it really did seem legit! then I posted it on facebook and my friend told me "NOOOO! DONT DO IT! ITS AN EVIL SCAM!! I KNOW MANY THAT FELL FOR IT INCLUDING MY MOM AND BOYFRIEND!!!" ...
So there you have it!

I could not say it any better, If I could I would not buy any and take my chance. But the insurenc companies had it made mandatory to by law to carry insurance, by buying politisens. And pass that lobing cost on to me also.

I got an e-mail from Continental Who's Who today and decided to research before entering info in there online "database of professionals"... and I found this, and I would like to say thank you. I was nominated for Who's Who in high school, via a teacher, and I had to check with her that it was real. So I thought maybe they had gotten somthing from there, but then realized that it was sent to my work e-mail, which they had no way of knowing. Kudos for not taking this down despite the threat of legal action!

Just for reference. Lawsuits are public information. Chances are there is a database online that we can view the case. These people contacted me too. They are what you say they are "matchstick men". Regardless way to stick it to the man. I was in a lawsuit for 4 years over absolute dick... Was finally thrown out and now I'm a happier man. The only discrepancy about posting the lawsuit would be the conditions of the "court settlement". Other then this you can list the case file and chances are people can laugh as they review. Sometimes companies have their foot in their ass regardless... But better to be safe then sorry. P.S. sorry about the court fees, they're a bitch.

I THINK THIS IS HILARIOUS!! WISH MY HSBAND CAME TO MY RESUCE LIKE THIS! HE WAS AT MY HOUSE FOR 2-1/2 HRS!! I FINALLY HAD TO TELL HIM I WILL TALK TO MY HUSBAND WHEN HE GETS HOME SO THEY WOULD LEAVE! THEY ENDED UP LEAVING THE DAMN SWEEPER HERE FOR ME TO US AND SHOW TO HIM! WHEN THEY CAME BACK TO PICK IT UP I REFUSED TO WASTE ANY MORE OF MY TIME! I HAD MY HUSBAND TELL HIM IT'S NOT AN OPTION...THEY STILL WOULDN'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. THEY OFFERED THIS SWEEPER FOR $2,700 THEN ENDED UP COMING DOWN TO $1,500 USING THE "FRIEND AND FAMILY DISCOUNT"! RIDICULOUS! REALLY ENJOYED THIS AUDIO!! HAHA...

I just opened a letter that I received in the mail yesterday. I am also currently a stay at home mom. I've had some pretty good jobs in my lifetime, but not anything that I feel I should be honored for. I don't think a medical secretary is something outstanding. It would have been more real to me had I been a college professor or maybe a doctor or nurse, but medical secretary? Something is wrong with this picture...Why are they mailing these out to everyone?
