A great article! The whole world is following trend with this insurance crap. Why should anyone else be help responsible for your fate? The American public needs to realize that if they saved the same money that they put in insurance, they would be better off.

John... I am sorry you feel this way. I am not afraid of expressing my views. You may notice that I have left all my posts online; furthermore, many people have come here to post their own ideas, feelings and experiences. The issue is a past portion of my own life... but had cowardice played a role then you would not have been able to find my site regarding the issue.

Are you kidding me? You let these people win. The practice that these people as well as others use are very questionable. You did not deserve to call yourself a journalist if after a little scare you are afriad to express your feelings about a company.

We had a guy come to the door a few months ago said he was with a carpet cleaning company and he'd be back in about 15 minutes to clean the carpets free just to get the word out and all he wanted in return was for us to tell all our friends . I thought wow great deal I need my carpets cleaned . 15 minutes later a woman came in with a huge box . I said omg your just a sweeper sales person . She said no I'm just here to clean your carpets . She starts talking for about a hour then starts cleaning as soon as she took the sweeper out I knew it was just a sales pitch . She was here for like 6 hours . we kept telling her no way could we aford this Kerby sweeper yes it did a awesome job and I loved it but I only work seasonal she said thats great you could pay more in the winter and the min in the summer . She called her boss and ask if he could get the price down . Then the boss comes to the door says so you really loved the Kerby huh . I said yes but I can't aford it right now . Well he gets on the phone to call his boss and starts making deals . They took it down to like 600.00 and payments of 39.00 I thought wow thats a deal but was still thinking . He says I'll throw in a years supply of bags and belts and a couple shampoos too . I said ok bought the Kerby and two days later my belt breaks so I use the spare they gave me . I never got the bags , shampoo or the belts . I am now reuseing the bag , without a belt and no shampoo . I have called the company and emailed them . Two weeks after I get a message saying they would contact the dealer and I would get what he said I'd get . It's been I think about 6 months and still nothing also when I got my payment book at the payoff I would have paid over 1600 for the sweeper . They will lie through they're teeth to make a sale . If I ever see another Kerby dealer in my area I will sick my dogs on them .

I first experienced the Err 99 (completely shutting down my camera) on a shoot in Mexico. I have a Canon XSi (450D) and was using a Canon L lens (28-70mm) at the time. The last two shots had what looked like a black ribbon across them, so I suspect it is a shutter problem, not a lens contact problem.
On this forum alone, there are at least 5 different models of Canon camera afflicted with Err 99, so it seems obvious it is a design flaw, not a result of using 3rd party lenses.
Perhaps the suggestion for a class action suit is a good one and might force Canon to come clean about this issue. I sent my camera off yesterday to the service center.
My trip to Cabo was ruined before it ever started because of Err 99. Shame on Canon.
Perhaps we could write en masse to the professional magazines and lobby for an article quoting us on just how much damage Err 99 has caused photographers. It is unconscionable for Canon to pretend it is the users' fault, or that dirty contacts are responsible for a manufacturing defect.

he is absolutely right. me and most all of my friends and relatives were children who were governed by corporal punishment and look at us now, a naval corpsman, a biomedical engineer, a premed student(myself), a journalist and a nurse. We love our parents with all our hearts and understand exactly why they took the actions that they did, not look at them like tyrannical dictators that got off on giving us a good whuppin' for deliberately lying, stealing, or behaving insanely. some people are just too soft man i swear.

There's a Killdeer nest by the tenniscourts at my high school. Im trying to keep them secret (don't want the rotten kids to find them and egg the school with the eggs or something). The tennis team and my science teacher know, and the 4th egg just came a few days ago. I just identified her species. I'm finding everything i research is true, and i'm quite excited. When the babies hatch, will they still hang around the nest and live there for a bit? (how long will they?) Is it okay to pick up the babies after a few days after hatching? (im guessing not, but i really want to!)

Hello, I'm from Dublin, Ireland, and I also received the dreaded ERR 99 message on my Canon XTi. I'm using a Canon EF 24-105 Lis lens with a spuroius battery grip that doubles battery life (two batteries!). Camera was set to fully auto when I got the error. I tried all the pre-mentioned remedies but the error remained. I did notice that when I started the camera up and tried to review pics I'd taken some of the files were corrupt and protected, so I couldn't delete them. Tried formating on the Canon and got the ERR 99. I also tried formatting on the computer and returning the card to the camera but still got a constant error. The card I was using was a SanDisk Extreme IV 4GB CF Card. I'd never had a problem with this card before. I exchanged the card with a Transcend 2GB CF Card and low and behold the error was cleared!! Happy Days!! Just a note though .........I bought the Camera in New York in the USA, the card I purchased on the net, (genuine card!). Please note that I'd performed all the other remedies prior to exchanging the Memory Card. Hope thiss info helps..........I was delighted to have found the above information in my hour of crisis!! Happy snapping! Bob.

Shawn... I'm so pleased that you have shared a terrific experience with your children flying paper airplanes. You might like to know that our airfoil is now being flown all around the world in the RC communities. It has taken over forty years to gain acceptance because the experts felt very negative about the concept. If you Google KF Airfoil, you will see many videos that have been posted. You have a beautiful family and the important thing to emphasize to them is that they are creative. Creativity is problem-solving and you don't have to be an artist, writer, musician or poet to be creative. Everyone has creative problem-solving abilities. People just need to be made aware of this ability they were born with.

lol. I get a kick out of the Kirby Dealer who says he's the pro and goes on about the scholarship program. Apparently his scholarship didn't result in improving his grammer! The next time a Kirby Dealer lies and pushes his way into your home, call the police. These high pressure sales tactics give Kirby a BAD reputation.

Wow this makes me rethink all my work, I am a reset specialist for a C-Store chain i travel store to store looking at the departments and making changes to these corporate wide Plan-O-Grams based on my veiws on the stores i love them and have been working with them since i was 14 at my first job. Sorry to hear my work can confuse people and these so called "Smart People" arent always the brightest i agree with that.
Debbie Pankey said: [ See Comment Stimulus ]
I hate the real smart people, they drive me crazy. Especially at Wal-Mart, they constantly change things and all I want to do is get in there and get out, it's not like they are putting really cool stuff in there anyway, so they need to quit this stuff and be more customer friendly, their a bunch of dumb dumbs

I wanted to thank you for posting these wonderful photos of Dewey. They brought back a lot of memories. I had a Golden for almost 18 years and when he passed on it was like someone had ripped my hearth out. I thought I would never get over the pain but as time went by I was able to look at a Golden without starting to cry and four years later I felt I was ready for another dog so, I now have two smaller dogs (I could never have another Golden) and they bring me a lot of comfort and joy. Thank you again for the beautiful photographs .

OMFG you are the man!!!!!!!!! for months now I have been putting my renders through photoshop and upping the levels etc and thus losing the quality due the stupid render output being so dark. I thankyou from the bottom of my heart that this has been solved. I may sleep better now.
Ron Goodison said: [ Regarding Canon 10D Err 99 ]
I had the same problem with my canon 40D, (error99) and tried everything, all the tricks switched lenes turn camera on and off memory card in and out, cleaned contacts, all that BS. Nothing fixed it!!! Then I sent the body to the factory. (Camera is 8 months old) It was back in my hands in a week. Great job Canon!! The fix was, according to my invoice, replace shutter ass'y, adjusted exposure & cleaned C-mos, Update filmware. Checked all to factory specs. You can try all that crap but it's like putting a band-aid on a broken arm!!!
It's not the lens or the memory card or the battery!!! don't waste your time!!!

Unbelievable! I received an email at work from Madison Who's Who requesting further information to be included in the registry. I proudly completed the form and felt good looking it over and thinking about my accomplishments. I thought to myself, "indeed I am worthy of this honor." Today, I get a phone call from Madison Who's Who. After a series of questions, the gentlemen stated, "I am authorized to recommend you to be included in the Madison Who's Who registry." I was going to receive a welcome package inclusive of two airline tickets, user name and password for accessing directory, webpage and a wall plate. All this could have been mine for just $899.00, not bad for a lifetime membership, is it? Well, I said, no don't have it, tight market. He then said, "tell you what, I can hear your hesitant, but really want to be included in this once in a lifetime offer, how about...for two $189.00 payments. I stalled and stalled, finally he went all the way down to $19.95 for a 30 day trial offer just to take a look and see for myself before I buy. I said, let me think it over and get back to you, he said he'll call me around the same time on Monday. I can't wait...what a crock of mess!!! Thanks for your information, if we all take time out to research things that doesn't seem right, we would save a lot of money.
