We had a Kirby sweeper salesman in our house last night. This is our 2nd time around with this type of salesman. They got into our house by a man coming ahead of them who led us to believe he was working for a carpet cleaning co. and would clean one room of carpet completely free, all he asked was if we where happy we spread the word. We thought why not, we where going to have our carpet cleaned soon anyway. He told us to move all our furniture they'd be back in 15 min. later to clean the room. Well guess what, when they arrived, it was a Kirby sweeper man. Right off the bat, I said I'm not buying your sweeper, that didn't get him to go, then, when he was asked to see our sweeper, guess what, I drag out my Kirby, which by the way I bought at a garage sale for $35.00. He was kinda taken back, then he tells us it's about 13 years old and the new ones are so much better, we should replace the one we had. I responded to this if someone pays 1700.00 for a sweeper, don't you think it should last longer then 13 years? This quy was in our house for over 2 hours, knowing we already owned a Kirby trying to convince us we needed a new one, I kept telling him, I'm not buying your sweeper, yet he just kept going. The fact that these people lied to get into my house, wouldn't take no for an answer makes me furious. We did not manage to get these people out of our house until almost 9 at night, both of us work, I had a house that needed cleaned up, 2 kids who needed our attention and still he just wouldn't leave. I don't really care why this guy was working for Kirby, I owned a Kirby already knew the product, basically begged him to leave, yet he wouldn't. I have a no soliciting sign on my door, and still i was harassed, annoyed, had my evening ruined all for something from the very start I informed him I wouldn't buy. And to top it off, after moving a complete room of furniture I never got my carpets cleaned. So after an exhausting evening of listening to this annoying sales pitch we had to put a room back together!

I am not only a pediatrician, but an alumnus of Westland High School (1982). This man's story is frighteningly familiar. It is also a wonderful story. And, yes, Mr. Olson, you are an amazing writer; and I couldn't agree with you more: one must, to a large extent, create one's own education...to rely on someone else for your education if foolish. For one to truly become educated, one must have passion...passion for something; and passion comes from within and cannot be taught. Teachers can SPARK passion, but cannot teach it. Apathy and complacency are common and are paths to mediochrity; passion, enthusiasm, curiosity, character, respect and perseverence are paths to excellence. Nice story, Shawn.

I assume the bold parts are changed according to what you currently do, but the gist is the same.
In the spirt of all scams, I have mailed back the form with SCAM written across it and I have used the interned site to make a false company. Let's see is Joe Schmoe, INC. has the same problems.
Also, since this is suppose to be registry about women... why does the form ask for my gender? :)[ See Responses ]

I love these pictures! I have two goldens; they are my "empty nest" babies and are wonderful companions.

I DO NOT think that this poor horse should have been mounted in the first place. The trainer should have worked to gain the horses trust and lung it. Then start working on putting the saddle on untill you and your horse are ready. DO NOT cowboy up! That is how tack, human, and animal get hurt. Also, the girth should have been tightened more because the saddle slipped. When the horse was kicking he could have gotten on of his back hooves caught on the saddle and been seriously hurt. Also, when Alex fell he shouldn't have put his arms out like he did. He could have broken his arm, wrist, or one or more of his fingers. Good pictures though. I just wish they weren't so dangerous.

I to got the letter and thus found this site. I just want to say about the lawsuit. they want to shut you up because just consider how many suits might follow yours. I don't know that to continue contacting you saying they are going to sue you is harrasement. You should file your own counter suit against them for that. thanks

I got the letter today from Cambridge. Having been in a Who's Who book in High School, i was really jazzed to considered again. I just received a promotion and i'm nearly done with my bachelor's degree. So i thought wow, someone is recognizing all my work. But i thought, you know what...this is too go to be true. I'm very glad i found your site. I immediately ripped up the form they ask for and even put it through the shredder. So thank you for saving me the stress!

I am experiencing the same err 99 message with my Canon 30D and it is not a lens, CF or battery issue as I have also performed all tests. For a camera that I have invested well over $1200 in, this is totally unacceptable. The error message is vague in that they do not give you any options, nor solutions in clearing the message.
Had I known about all of the people out there with similar issues I would never have purchased this camera as it is a significant investment. If there are all of the issues present, I believe that Canon should issue a recall and repair the problem at their expense. Make sure you do extensive homework before investing in a Canon as it is risky at best!
BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Awesome site, thanks for the entertainment, it's much needed when you're busy working.
Meen Rivers said: [ Regarding My Swing Against the Anti-Spanking Movement ]
Only sick, sadistic megalomaniacs condone spanking. It is not only physical abuse, it is sexual abuse. And please do not involve Christianity in all of this, the are many Christians out there who actually love their children and take their time to adequately educate and love their children, and do not resort to damaging, reactive parenting. I pity the abused children of spankers. Please give them up for adoption to loving parents, or don't have them at all if you can't cope with them in a civilized manner.

Safari 3.0.4 for PC (possibly all versions) does not seem to include any class names that are not totally lowercase. Opera needs different DOM sniffing code, see my reply to Opera observation below for pointer to patched code.
Thanks to JeroenH.
Gary E said: [ See Comment Stimulus ]
I asked about this in Opera's cross browser forum and somebody posted a fix there. The browser's DOM sniffing is incomplete in the script. Perhaps it can be updated here for others who have the problem?
