My Son's Eyes
Your eyes, curious, stare at a world so strange
You watch in wonder as each day brings change
I’m also amazed, because you’re changing too
Those eyes, at first gray, are now sparkling blue
At your big gummy grin, I can’t help but smile
The joy in your eyes makes my life worth while
Though you’re still a baby, at times you seem so wise
My heart melts at the young man I see behind your eyes
Through my son, I view life with renewed eyes
I helplessly grasp at the days, my how time flies
You watch in wonder as each day brings change
I’m also amazed, because you’re changing too
Those eyes, at first gray, are now sparkling blue
At your big gummy grin, I can’t help but smile
The joy in your eyes makes my life worth while
Though you’re still a baby, at times you seem so wise
My heart melts at the young man I see behind your eyes
Through my son, I view life with renewed eyes
I helplessly grasp at the days, my how time flies
