Evolution of an idea
These are some graphic ideas that started when Virginia asked if I could make tesselations in Corel PHOTO-PAINT. While I'm sure I could if I had the patience... I was not able to create true tesselations. However... the attempt opened my creative juices.
The first image is a few layers of tiled patterns. I created a simple black and white bitmap for the tile... then filled a few layers with the image. I changed the angle a few times and applied color merge changes for various effects.

The second image has a zoom blur applied to two layers and a radial blur applied to a third layer.

The third image has a photo I took of a yellow jacket wasp composited above the rest of the image.
