So Close

You are only but a few yards away
I get to see and talk to you everyday.
My feelings of love have grown so true
I just wish you didn't hurt, like I know you do.

The anger is in you but it doesn't have to be
The feelings of love can overpower them, you see.
I long for the chance to be able to show who I am
And to have you look at me and say "I love you Ma'am"

I have patience and know I just have to wait and see
But I honestly in my heart feel this is meant to be.
I know that the road ahead will not be an easy one
But if we both work together I know it can be done.

So step back and look at all there is to see
Think of all the things that we wanted to be.
Make a decision to love me until your dying day
And all the pain and hurt will soon be driven away.

I have written this poem for all the world to see
I hope that it means something to more than just me.
