walking the fence
I walk the fence each day that I live,
I take what I want in pretence to give
with lies to be told, and truths to be lost,
I trample and plunder without fear of cost,
Why should I come down from my fence so divine?
Why should I come down if you won't draw the line?
And so the day goes as I make my way hence,
the pathway is fine while I'm walking the fence.
