Nature's Brood

Nature's Brood

The singe of sorrow
never did touch
the broken marrow
upon the lion's bloody teeth.
Nor did remorse ever spill
from the gaping shark
who's deep hunger death doth fill.

Ever in the corners
of shadows and night
stalk thirsting haters;
Children of earth often revel and delight
in plunders that forever end
the spark of wonder and life.

The eyes of nature's brood
are seldom teachers of wisdom;
We fear the truth of Gaia nude
thus we cover her in fairy tales--
and call each enfraction against hope
a failure to look beyond the microscope.
