Blood of unshackled love
Every day she takes
one more step away.
My throat shrinks
and my stomach sinks.
There I go away,
surfing on that
wild intoxicating wave.
Her face and heart
I want to save—
But she’s going away
like a feather
falling on the force
of a strong stormy wind.
My life stops
and this heart cries
into the next lonely step
where fools laugh
at the misery
of the young forlorn heart…
whose dreams were painted
in the blood of unshackled love.
one more step away.
My throat shrinks
and my stomach sinks.
There I go away,
surfing on that
wild intoxicating wave.
Her face and heart
I want to save—
But she’s going away
like a feather
falling on the force
of a strong stormy wind.
My life stops
and this heart cries
into the next lonely step
where fools laugh
at the misery
of the young forlorn heart…
whose dreams were painted
in the blood of unshackled love.
