August 18, 2006 Newsletter

With all the work I have been doing on Webonizer, there has been little time for photography as of late. But I have found the opportunity to sneak away to the park a few times in the last few weeks.

Inside this newsletter is a link to some new animals and insect photos. On the Darby page is a sample of my first attempt to film insects and animals with a video camera. My skills are far from impressive, but I do think that I will be able to produce some impressive films of wildlife once I get the techniques under my belt. The first thing I learned so far is to use a tripod—hand shake is worse on a video camera than on a film camera.

I also made a new statistics tool to try and teach a few principles in making sense of statistical statements. I have gotten some useful feedback and criticisms from friends and intellectuals. On a final note… I am proud to say that the site surpassed its Three Millionth visitor this week. My goal now is to reach four million by the end of the year.
