June 28, 2006 Newsletter

It’s been about two months since I sent out my last newsletter. A lot has changed on the site since then. Most notably, I have completely converted my site to the newest version of my content management system called Webonizer. So far I have converted this site and the Artistic Network to the Webonizer system.

With the new system is a new area altogether where you can browse the photos and art on the site.

I also spent a week with family in Missouri. I was able to capture quite a few interesting photos of various insects and wildlife. Unfortunately, I was not able to explore too much of the scenery with my camera since I was usually behind the wheel when driving through the Ozarks region. I did notice that Missouri is similar to my home state of Ohio.

I will load some new Missouri wildlife photos over the next week.

In music news, my longtime friends of the former band Cringe had a reunion show on June 27, 2006. I was happy to be there with my camera. I will get some of those photos posted this week too. I especially want to thank Tommy Cline for the kind words when the started playing Ceramic. It meant a lot to me.

In other news, I will be changing the email address this newsletter uses very soon. In the near future, emails for this newsletter will come from newsletter at shawnolson dot net.

Finally, I have further removed many members and/or articles from my site. I have been sending out friendly nudges over the last year for anyone who is not a close friend to move their information over to the Artistic Network… as I have been changing the theme of ShawnOlson.Net to be more focused on my work and those close to me. As I have said in the past, this is not done maliciously, but pragmatically. It is a thematic move, and it makes sense since the Artistic Network is the type of site I envisioned when I first started inviting artists to ShawnOlson.net.

That's it for now. I plan on adding more regular content in the upcoming weeks.
