January 25, 2006 Newsletter
There are a couple new things to share with you all this week. First is the implementation of an RSS Feed for this site. I added it to this site after making one for the Artistic Network site. While I am not exactly sure what role it will play in the future of this site, I added it as new way for fans of the site to stay up-to-date. As my time for working on individual projects, it may be an easy way to inform regular visitors about new content between newsletters.
The RSS Feed address for this site is www.shawnolson.net/artsnews.xml . To subscribe to the feed, you will have to install a Feed Reader. I am currently using Feedreader.
The other is a project I am compiling for a Creative Arts Workshop for central Ohio. The workshop will teach a wide range of creative techniques in the fields for which I have expertise: web development, photography and journalism.
The courses will be held in Columbus every Saturday starting sometime in Spring. I do not have all the details worked out yet, but I have loaded a new subdomain specifically for this project at http://workshop.shawnolson.net.
My friend and co-worker Andrew Penry is likely to head some of the classes. I am also playing with the idea of adding music integration into the courses—calling on the musical talents of my talented brother Eric and some of the rock stars in my inner circle.
