Well I figured I ought to let everyone know about some of the recent projects going on.

Apart from working on some new web tools, I have done a little photography. One of my photos is on billboards around Columbus advertising a new morning show for local radio station 99.7 The Blitz. See some of those photos at Grego Show photos I took.

Over the weekend I was also at a practice for my friends in Philo, a rock band featuring two former members of Cringe (Corbin and Ryan Butcher). Mat Marcum, Cringe’s drummer, was also present. When Tom Cline and Ryan Wilder (of Noise Auction) also showed up, I felt like I was part of a Cringe reunion—which was only fitting since there was supposed to be an official Cringe reunion over the weekend that fell through.

I went out that night and got a few live shots of Noise Auction. It had been many months since I shot a band live.

I also learned over the weekend of a major change in the Ohio music scene. Aaron Benner, longtime member of Liquid 6teen, officially announced his resignation from the band. I talked to Aaron about his decision; he is already working on a new band and is currently looking for a bass player. Liquid 6teen is looking for a replacement. I expect the split will turn out to be the best for both Liquid 6teen and Aaron’s new project.

In other news, I have made some major changes to this site. The gist of the change is that with the launch of the Global Artistic Network, I am altering focus of this site towards my own work and the work of very close friends and associates. While I have not removed anyone’s profiles, images or articles from the site, I have removed listings of those articles from most of the site topic pages.

Finally, I have launched a new online gaming tool for web developers that automatically generates HTML for adding hangman pages to websites. The new hangman game is at http://hangman.shawnolson.net and the developer tool is at http://hangman.shawnolson.net/hangman.php. The site is not visually finished, and some of the functions will be tweaked… but it is a neat tool.
