All music-lovers in Central Ohio tonight should stop in at the Newport Music Hall after 6pm to see some of my favorite local musicians participating in the Rock To Remember concert… a show raising money for the families of the victims of the recent shootings.

One of the key acts is “The Stonies”… a group of musicians that were friends and co-workers of the late Nathan Bray and Erin “Stoney” Halk. My friends in Liquid 6teen, Noise Auction and Volume Dealers are also playing, as well as Gone Until Tomorrow.

In other music news, a long-time client of mine, Eightdaze, recently had a shake-up when vocalist Jeremy decided to call it quits. They are now looking for vocalists to audition for the vacancy. Andy Crothers of Eightdaze will be at the show tonight, performing with the Stonies.

In yet other news, I think I have officially had my first “fan art” published on the site. Sheela Kumar remade my Moonlit Travel painting. See her rendition at www.shawnolson.net/a/1015/.

Finally, I have added a new area of the site called the Recommended Reading from a Skeptical Artist. It lists brief reviews of books that I hold in high esteem, as well as links to buy them.
